Nueces County Commissioners decided not to sign a month-to-month contract with current provider Armor Health, leaving them with one day to find a new healthcare provider for the jail.
The company that provides medical services for the Nueces County Jail, Armor Health Management, is running out of money and owes at least $153 million dollars that it cannot pay.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office intends to end its contract with Armor Correctional Health Care, which is accused of denying inmates care and medication.
