The Armenian Investigative Committee said on Friday that pro-Russian blogger Mikael Badalyan and Sputnik Armenia columnist Ashot Gevorkyan have been released from custody.
According to investigators, a bag with a submachine gun, cartridges, and several grenades was placed in Gevorkyan’s car by other persons, who were also detained on charges of illegal arms possession, without his consent
The Rossiya Segodnya international media group reported on Thursday that it is monitoring the situation with the detention of Sputnik Armenia columnist Ashot Gevorgyan and expects that an unbiased investigation will be conducted into the matter.
