17:00 | Tumbes (Tumbes region), Jan. 26. More than 1,200 members of the Armed Forces and the National Police of Peru participate since early in the morning of Tuesday in a control operation to prevent the entry of immigrants in the border area of Tumbes, the Joint Command of the Armed Forces (CCFFAA) reported on Tuesday.
It must be noted that the actions are carried out along the borderline of said region.
The Joint Command reported that the deployment of armored units, motorized units, and military personnel in the area was ordered to strengthen control measures in the northern border of Peru, as well as surveillance and preventive actions in the face of the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
