Some of my favorite moments in iowa are centered on honoring our veterans and their families with the metals and recognition that they have earned. War,he returned home from he did not skip a beat in his service. He quickly joined the iowa state countyand then the polk sheriffs office. These men and women of americas military have put everything on the line to defend our country. Each time they are called to serve they answer that call, but too often these brave men and women find themselves in the fight of their lives not on some faroff battlefield against an enemy but right here within our own soil, within their own ranks, with their Commanding Officers as victims of horrible acts of sexual violence. Sexual assault is not new, but it has been allowed to fester in the shadows for far too long because instead of the zero tolerance we have heard for two decades since dick cheney used those words in 1992, what we truly have, mr. Asked in a Quinnipiac University poll whether donald trump is quote fit to serve as president , a majority, 56 , say no. 42 say he is. This as his job approval tipped up one point from august. Now at 36 to approve, 57 disapprove. On the issues, americans have slightly favorable views of h handling of the economy and terrorism, with approval at 48. At 47 for each issue. But about six in ten americans disapprove of his Job Performance on other major issues. 38 approve of him on both Foreign Policy and immigration and 34 approve on environment and health care.
