Fort McCoy Armed Forces Day Open House canceled due to pandemic April 22, 2021 12:08 PM Jourdan Vian FORT McCOY, Wis. (WKBT) Fort McCoy announced Wednesday that it will not be hosting its annual open house to celebrate Armed Forces Day this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “After much consideration, Fort McCoy leadership has determined that, because of ongoing safety precautions for the COVID-19 pandemic, this is not the time to host an Armed Forces Day Open House. Instead, the installation will focus on other smaller community outreach opportunities this year,” it said in a statement. The event is usually the third Saturday in May at the Fort McCoy Commemorative Area.
