Redcar and Cleveland Council has pledged its support to those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, by re-signing the Armed Forces Covenant. The re-signing, designed to coincide with this years Armed Forces Week, was attended by Leader of the Council, Cllr Mary Lanigan and Armed Forces Champion for the Council, Cllr Bill Clarke. It is a promise by the organisation to those who serve or have served, and their families, that they are treated with fairness and respect in their communities, economy and society for which they serve with their lives. Redcar and Cleveland Council originally signed the Covenant in 2012 which means the local authority has committed to nearly a decade of support for employees who are reservists, veterans and their families.
