Derry will face the winners of a preliminary clash between Down and Donegal when the Ulster senior football championship rolls around later this year.
Oakleafers’ boss Rory Gallagher will be an interested spectator at Páirc Esler, with a chance to run his eye over their opponents.
Should Down advance, they will travel to Celtic Park for a repeat of the 2015 clash won by Derry, their last victory in an Ulster championship clash. A Donegal victory would see Derry make the trip to Ballybofey.

TYRONE will face reigning champions Cavan in the quarter-finals of the Ulster Championship.
The draw for the provincial championship was made this evening, and it’s fair to say that Tyrone’s clash against Mickey Graham’s Cavan is the tie of the round.
The Breffni County defied the odds to win last year’s Ulster Championship for the first time since 1997, while Tyrone are always strongly fancied to do well, so it has the makings of a fantastic contest.

The teams last met in the championship in 2019, when Tyrone eased to a 1-20 to 0-7 victory at Clones in a Round Four qualifer. Much has changed since then, however, including a change of management, and this will be Feargal Logan and Brian Dooher’s first championship clash in charge of the Red Hands.

The Donegal senior footballers have been paired with Down in the 2021 Ulster Championship Preliminary Round.
The winners of that match will take on Derry, who are managed by former Donegal boss Rory Gallagher.
Paddy Tally is in charge of Down, and they defeated Fermanagh in last year’s championship before losing to Cavan in the Ulster semi-final.
