Rangers apologise to victims of child abuse in Scottish football
By The Athletic Staff
The 191-page report heard 33 accounts of abuse by eleven alleged abusers and made 97 recommendations to Scottish football clubs.
Above all, it called for the clubs involved to “issue an unequivocal and unreserved public apology to those who have been personally directly affected by sexual abuse in Scottish football”.
The report was designed to tackle the issues of accountability and responsibility in relation to what was known about the matters, who knew at the time and whether action was taken or not.
What did Rangers say?
Rangers released an unreserved apology, stating that they had “taken some time to consider its lengthy findings and recommendations”.
