Donald Edwards, 82, of Binghamton, New York, formerly of Canton, New York, peacefully went home to be with his savior Jesus on Dec. 13, 2020, after an eight year battle with bladder cancer. He spent his final weeks surrounded by family. Together they shared many treasured moments.
Don was born August 1, 1938 in Sandwich, Illinois. With his siblings, Bruce, Shirley, Stephen and Linda, he lived in various towns in New York. His father Selden Ward was a pastor and his mother Naomi was a homemaker.
As a young boy he gave his life to Jesus Christ and faithfully served Him in many ways inside and outside of the church. He loved teaching children Bible lessons and was wonderful at keeping their attention with his animated story telling. Volunteering at Richville Christian Academy with elementary students was a joy to him. Daily he read his Bible and diligently prayed for people even years after losing contact with them.
