The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Wednesday approved over-the-counter sales of Narcan, a drug that treats opioid overdose in emergency situations. Narcan is one of several brands of naloxone, the opioid antagonist drug, and is administered through a nasal spray.
