FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas travels to Auburn to open SEC play on Wednesday (Dec. 30). The game is set to begin at 6:00 pm (CT) and will telecast on ESPN2.
This will be the 55th meeting between Arkansas and Auburn. The Razorbacks own a 34-20 advantage in the series, including a 34-19 cushion in games since Arkansas joined the SEC.
Arkansas has won 10 of the last 14 in the series, although Auburn has won four of the last six.
Beginning its 30th season in the Southeastern Conference, Arkansas is 17-12 all-time in SEC openers.
Arkansas opens conference play at Auburn, ending a recent trend of opening league play versus Texas A&M. Prior to this year, Arkansas began its SEC schedule with the Aggies in five of the last eight years since A&M joined the league (2012-13).
FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas faces a quick turnaround before taking a break for the Holidays. After defeating Oral Roberts Sunday, Arkansas will host Abilene Christian on Tuesday at 4 pm (CT) and the game will be televised on SEC Network.
This will be the first meeting between Arkansas and Abilene Christian.
This is the second time Arkansas has faced a Southland Conference team this season, defeating Central Arkansas 100-75 on Dec. 12. Overall, Arkansas is 30-1 versus current Southland Conference members. Its lone loss was to Northwestern Stat, 74-68, on Nov. 29, 1954.
Arkansas made a big jump in the AP and Coaches polls after its 7-0 start.
FAYETTEVILLE – After a week off due to final exams, Arkansas returns to the hardwood and will host Oral Roberts on Sunday (Dec. 20). Tipoff is set for 1 pm and the game will be telecast on SEC Network.
This will be the 13th all-time meeting between Arkansas and Oral Roberts. The Razorbacks own a 10-2 advantage in the series, including a 7-0 mark in Fayetteville.
Oral Roberts, picked second in the Summit League preseason poll, is the fourth of five Razorback non-conference opponents that were picked first or second in their league this preseason. The fifth school on the list will be Tuesday when Arkansas hosts Abilene Christian – preseason #@, defending league champion and among those receiving votes for the top 25 each of the last two weeks.
FAYETTEVILLE – For the first time since the 1946-47 season, Arkansas will play Central Arkansas in men’s basketball. Game time is set for 7:00 pm and the game will now be televised on SEC Network Alternate.
The Razorbacks are 6-0 all-time versus the Bears, including a 3-0 record in games played in Fayetteville. Although technically, this is the first meeting with “University of Central Arkansas”. The school was known as Arkansas State Normal School in 1923-24 and Arkansas State Teachers College from 1925-67.
The series dates back to Arkansas’ first season of basketball. The teams met on back-to-back days during the 1923-24 season (Jan. 11 and 12) in Fayetteville with the Razorbacks winning 62-27 and 34-14, respectively.
