Total medical marijuana sales have surpassed 30,000 pounds in Arkansas, with over $200 million spent to obtain the cannabis, according to Scott Hardin, spokesperson for the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission.Hardin says since the first dispensary opened in May 2019, Arkansans have spent $200.7 million to obtain 30,648 pounds of medical marijuana, as of Dec. 16.There are 31 dispensaries serving patients and seven working toward launching operations.
In addition, the Arkansas Department of Health website indicates 60,013 medical marijuana ID cards had been issued as of Nov. 20.
