Share Updated: 6:03 AM CDT Apr 1, 2021 The CDC extended the federal eviction moratorium through June, and there are thousands of dollars available for Arkansas renters who are behind on payments.The Crawford-Sebastian Community Development Council (CSCDC) exists to help people in the area access those funds. “It scares them to know that they may be two or three months behind in rent, and they have no idea what to do with it,” CSCDC Deputy Director Carol Jenkins said. “Give us a call, and see what we can do because we re here to help. That s what this CAP agency does.” Jenkins said there is $200,000 in state Community Development Block Grant Money alone. They also have around $5,000

Rental, winter heating assistance now available

Ozark Opportunities, Inc. (OOI) of Harrison announces it now has both rental and winter heating assistance available.OOI officials say for those struggling to pay rent due to COVID-19, assistance is being offered through Arkansas Fresh Start (www.arfreshstart.com). When applying online, applicants will be asked their preferred contact. Email is required and  from OOI will be via email and telephone. Winter heating assistance is also now available.
