Police arrested a carjacking suspect following a pursuit that spanned several Atlantic County towns Saturday afternoon.
An Atlantic City police officer was on foot patrol near the beach block of Arkansas Avenue shortly before 2 p.m. when he heard a woman screaming, according to city police.
He spotted the Deptford woman pulling at the driver’s side door of a vehicle and, as he ran to help, the car sped off.
The woman told the officer she was in the driver’s seat of her car when a man entered the passenger’s seat. The woman got out of the car and the man, later identified by authorities as Kevin Wade, 59, of Philadelphia, moved to the driver’s seat and drove away, police said.
