A man died after jumping into the Thames to rescue a woman who fell from London Bridge. Police were called at 12.12am this morning, following reports of a woman in the river close to the bridge. Two men who witnessed her fall entered the river in an effort to save her. While the coastguard and marine units managed to rescue the woman and one of the men, the other remained missing. A body believe to be the missing man was found this morning. His next of kin have been made aware and are being supported by specialist officers. It is the second incident this week where a person has fallen into the Thames near London Bridge.

At this moment in time, police are treating this case as a missing persons incident .
He added: This is obviously distressing news for (the boy s) family, friends and the wider Ark Globe community. Our hopes and prayers are with the family at this very difficult time.
The principal acknowledged that the past year has been very difficult for everyone and urged parents to contact the school or NSPCC, the UK s top children s charity, if they need help.
The teenager had been wearing his full uniform as he made his way to The Ark Globe Academy in Southwark, London, on Tuesday at around 8am when he fell from the bridge (emergency services at the scene)
