Lune+Aster just launched a collection of tinted lip balms, and the story behind the name of each shade is incredibly inspiring. The brand, which was created by Bluemercury cofounder and CEO Marla Beck, partnered with six founders of women-focused organizations Ariel Beck of Girls Who Start, Abigail Harrison of The Mars Generation, Ina Bhoopalam of Dream Equal, Valerie Weisler of The Validation Project, Haile Thomas of The HAPPY Org, and Judith Martinez of InHerShoes to create new lip balm shades that correspond with the mission of each.
All six organizations are centered around a variety of causes, from encouraging girls to pursue careers in STEM to tackling gender inequality. The collection features buildable, vegan shades that are infused with hydrating ingredients, like vitamins C and E, and other good-for-you ingredients, like pomegranate peel and turmeric extract. UFC veterans Jordan Espinosa and Shana Dobson have been released from the roster after both suffered losses in recent fights.
Multiple people with knowledge of the releases confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Thursday.
Espinosa’s run with the UFC comes to an end after he went 2-4 with the promotion after joining the roster by way of Dana White’s Contender Series. A talented prospect at 125 pounds, he picked up a win in his octagon debut but then dropped his next two fights in a row.
He then earned another win over Mark De La Rosa before again suffering back-to-back losses, which then led to his release from the UFC. Espinosa most recently competed this past Saturday at UFC 259, where he lost a unanimous decision to Tim Elliott.
Another season of
The Ultimate Fighter is in the books and another new UFC champion is set to be crowned. TUF 26 marks the second time the promotion has used its flagship reality show to award a title to a new weight class.
Much like the prior season with the same format, TUF 20, the show’s roster was comprised of women, this time in the flyweight division. And like that iteration, a large portion of the cast was pulled from all-women’s promotion Invicta Fighting Championships. Some of the choices were no-brainers: inaugural Invicta champion Barb Honchak, UFC veterans Roxanne Modafferi and Lauren Murphy, as well as former Invicta title challenger DeAnna Bennett. But there were plenty of fresh faces from the international scene as well.
