Five Edmonton recreation facilities on the chopping block for closure will live to see another day.
Council unanimously voted Wednesday evening to reinstate $1.2 million in the 2021 operating budget to keep Oliver, Scona and Eastglen pools as well as Oliver and Tipton arenas open. The five facilities in core neighbourhoods were recommended for closure in the city’s proposed budget adjustments in an effort to freeze 2021 property taxes.
