amy walter, what do you think? we have been here before. we have been here before. i thought it was important that you raised the anita hill/clarence thomas moment where it felt like the world had changed, sort of spun on its axis. we elected more women to congress in 1992, a year after those hearings, and yet it s now 2017 and it feels like we haven t gone very far. i feel like where we are right now is the dam has broken, and yet we don t know what to do with all the water, right? so we say, yes, it s there, but now what do we do with the situation that we re in? and i don t think it s going to be solved in one election cycle with one candidate, and i don t think it s going to be solved for the whole host of other women who aren t in as congresswoman dingell said, powerful positions or feel like they still are without a voice. they still feel scared and vulnerable. rich lowry, peggy noonan wrote this weekend that the women of alabama are now being challenged.
basically been watching this. it had died down considerably two weeks ago, there were six guys. last week 250 after president trump tweeted. this week the official numbers aren t in. it is much less than last week, but still the teams, the 49ers as you just went through, and i think we will probably see a major demonstration by the seahawks tonight when they take on indianapolis on sunday night football. jim, we saw some owners joining players on the field last week, but not today? i haven t heard of any owners down on the field today. and we certainly didn t see any of those owners down on the field. fox broadcast network decided not to show the anthems. i believe that they reported on this on who did not stand up. i was watching joe buck and troy aikman and they did note in the panthers and patriots game that everybody stood up. i didn t see the other games but they made a conscious decision not to show the anthem. cbs did. so i m not sure exactly if there

making huge changes to obamacare. shannon: i want to make sure we get to a couple key points. one of them is not repealing, one of the really big taxes that the senate side seems to agree it would benefit high income earners. they say if we keep that tax in place, then we will have more money for subsidies, opioid assistance, all kind of other things. let s do it at the expense of people who are doing fine to benefit those who aren t in maybe that s a better sell. there are others in their saying, no, we are going to get rid of every tax and obamacare including that one. politically, this is a really double edge sword for republicans. obamacare has a 3.8% tax on investment income for couples who make more than $250,000 a year. that brings in a fair amount of money. the question is among republicans, our current bill the current proposal would repeal that entirely along with obamacare s other taxes. some people are saying we need to spend more on opioids or perhaps on medicaid, mayb
for them, we re looking at something of a little bit of a cease-fire. the sentencing commission basically taking what you mentioned, the largest single release of prisoners ever, but the most they say other than the undocumented immigrant class, most of them would be essentially drug offenders who served eight years out of ten-year sentences. so people who aren t in for other violent offenses who have done eight year z, which is a a very long sentence for drugs and are getting out about two years early. this is the start of a wave of potential releases. so if they served eight years on average, what kinds of drug crimes did they probably commit. probably not enough to be part of serious violence or gang banging or drug running. they were somewhere in the middle. a fair amount of drugs on them, enough to be arrested and
