Staff has since begun offering some types of their classic sandwiches, such as turkey and Swiss and baked ham and provolone, made daily and available for sale in a refrigerated display.
You heard correctly. Williamsburg Area Restaurant Association has expanded its Restaurant Week by another week.
The initiative now goes through Feb. 7, just in time for Super Bowl Sunday.
The annual event, which started Thursday, Jan. 21, encourages local foodies to share their experiences dining with WARA members for the chance of winning a prize.
This year, 37 WARA restaurants are participating.
Each day, 10 winners are awarded prizes, with the chance to win a chicken dinner, according to WARA’s website. Two winners are selected each day to receive a $25 WARA gift certificate, and six people are chosen to receive a $5 gift card from one WARA member.

Debi Schaefer, director of WARA, said they weren’t sure the event would happen this year with the pandemic still happening.
“Would we be seen as irresponsible if we promoted it during a pandemic?” Schaefer said.
At the same time, local businesses have also been suffering because of the pandemic. So WARA decided to go ahead with Restaurant Week.
This year, they promoted curbside pick-up and takeout options available among members.
Schaefer added last year, 45 members participated in Restaurant Week. This year, 37 restaurants are taking part. She said she would have been thrilled if just 20 decided to join this year.
