I contacted two county commissioners listed on the sign this morning and upon returning today, we found a public works employee on sight making sure that the pump was on and working. I asked pasco county officials why the pump was left off while neighborhoods remained underwater. They pointed to the widening project. In an email sent late this afternoon, a county attorn an ongoing dispute with the contractor for that project which it is in the process of resolving. It turns out the county delayed flipping the search to research if pumping flood water into this retention pond would impact the ridge road project site and who is responsible, the county or contractor for potential damages. The pump is online now but bass lake neighbors are hoping that the county can come up with a longterm fix. Find out the solution to the problem.
