Across the state, high school students are forming clubs to combat hate and make sure all students feel welcome and safe at school. Lake Effect’s Mallory Cheng spoke with a couple of Wisconsin students about their efforts.
We Are Many-United Against Hate was created in 2016 by Masood Akhtar. The group formed in response to the proposal to establish a Muslim registry. Now the movement has grown throughout Wisconsin working to build inclusive communities through education and finding the root causes of division and hate.
