Archie Wayne Peterson, 86, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, 10:30 a.m. May 10, 2021, at Grace Lutheran Church Pastor Dan Kahl officiating. Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery with military rites presented. Visitation will be held 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, May 9, 2021, at Laufersweiler Funeral Home.
Archie Wayne Peterson was born on the family farm northwest of Burnside, Iowa, during a bad snowstorm on December 5, 1934. He was the youngest of 3 children, born to Leroy and Lillie Peterson. He was taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Dodge, where he was immediately baptized.
He went to Sunday School and church at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Burnside with his family. He attended Burnside Consolidated School and graduated high school there on May 9, 1952. He married Betty L. Peterson who was originally from Eagle Grove, on September 16, 1956, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Burnside. In June of 1957 (during peacetime) h
