The Chancery of the Archdiocese of Capiz announced the election of Villareal on Monday, June 28 in a Facebook post.
“The Archdiocese of Capiz announces the election of the Very Reverend Monsignor Cyril B. Villareal as Diocesan Administrator of the Archdiocese of Capiz,” read the announcement of Rev. Dedert V. Duarte, chancellor of the archdiocese.
In a separate post, the Capiz Archdiocesan Social Action said that the Archdiocese assumed the “Sede Vacante” status after its former Archbishop, His Eminence Jose F. Cardinal Advincula was formally installed as the 33rd Archbishop of Manila on June 24, 2021.
