ANN ARBOR, MI – Ann Arbor officials concerned about the number of crashes on the M-14 bridge over the Huron River are asking the state to do something about it.
The freeway is frequently closed when it rains not due to any flood-related concerns, but because of public safety and environmental concerns. Spilled fuel and other pollutants from the numerous crashes on the troublesome stretch of road can easily find their way into the river below, officials say.

ANN ARBOR, MI – A training center used by firefighters across Washtenaw County is being named after a veteran Ann Arbor firefighter who was key in making it possible.
The Ann Arbor Fire Department is hosting a dedication ceremony Friday, May 7, at the W.R. Wheeler Service Center naming the countywide fire training center the “Craig Sidelinger Fire Training Center” in honor of the training captain who died of cancer earlier this year.
“Craig was instrumental in getting this training center going and it has been valued and used by departments throughout the county,” Ann Arbor Fire Chief Mike Kennedy said.

ANN ARBOR – Shortly after 10 p.m. on Thursday night, social media posts by residents on Ann Arbor’s northside began flowing in asking the same question: “Did anyone hear that loud boom?”
Residents took to Twitter, Nextdoor and various local Facebook groups to seek more information on a blast that shook nearby houses and was heard as far as Packard and Platt.
