Kaulunani offers grant opportunity for Arbor Day in Hawaiʻi 2024 : Maui Now

Kaulunani Urban and Community Forestry, a program of the DLNR Division of Forestry and Wildlife, is now seeking grant proposals from community organizations that would like to share the benefits of trees with their communities for Arbor Day 2024. The deadline to apply is Monday, Jan. 15, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. HST.

Through an Arbor Day Grant from Ameren, the Olney Tree Board this year provided Richland County fourth graders with White Pine tree seedlings for them to plant with family and friends, plus local youth also received coloring books, color-change pencils, and tree planting guides. In fact, the students and their planting partners are encouraged to post photos of their tree planting online by using hashtags : #AmerenIllinois, #OlneyIL, or #ArborDay2021. The City of Olney Tree Board also wants to encourage all citizens to plant trees from any of Olney’s local nurseries and/or greenery vendors.
