Poisoning the Hawkesbury
Sydney’s rivers, bombarded by phosphorus-rich nutrients and pollutants, are running out of time, the managing director of the Water Board, Mr Bob Wilson, has told a chemicals summit at Penrith. He warned that the water quality of the Nepean-Hawkesbury system, Sydney’s major source of drinking supplies, was deteriorating so rapidly that without remedial action the river would die.

Ms Mary Reheby, centre co-ordinator for the Australian-Arab Welfare Council, said such a game would help dehumanise war. “It makes the war on television seem just like another computer game.”
