GLENVILLE – After about 100 tractor-trailer strikes and turnarounds in the Canadian Pacific Railroad bridge’s existence on Glenridge Road, local officials are calling for the state and the rail company to take action in the wake of this week’s latest accident.
Town Supervisor Christopher Koetzle and the local legislative delegation said they want the state to close the underpass to truck traffic and raise the 10-foot, 11-inch bridge to a height that would be safer, as determined by traffic engineers.
All of the roads involved are owned by the state and county and would require state Department of Transportation involvement to coordinate and execute a solution, officials said.

Pump The Breaks-Construction on Mohawk-Hudson Bike Path
The weather is finally getting nicer which means we can get out and exercise. One of the best ways to do that is along the Mohawk Hudson Bike-Hike Trail. Be aware though if you are going to head out, there will be some sections that will be closed or under construction.
I have enjoyed the tranquility and the beauty of the Mohawk Hudson Bike-HikeTrail in various sections of the Capital Region. We used to live near the entrance to the part of the path in Cohoes. We would sometimes ride our bikes or go for long walks with our dog, Freddie. Either way, it s a great place to get fresh air and exercise in a safe environment. The cool thing about the Mohawk-Hudson Bike-Hike Trail is that it extends 97 miles from the Hudson Valley through the Capital Region to the Erie Canalway.
Intermittent bike path closures in April near Niskayuna construction site | The Daily Gazette

NISKAYUNA The new Rivers Ledge rental community is taking shape between Aqueduct Road and the Mohawk River near the Rexford Bridge, with foundations poured and the first building erected.
The nearby Mohawk-Hudson Bike Hike Trail will be closed at times for much of April as two roads are built across the trail and into the site. How long the intermittent closures continue depends significantly on how many rainy days there are this month.
Walkers and bikers already will have noticed two gravel patches on the trail just west of where it crosses Aqueduct Road; whether the spots were passable often depended on the time of day and the work being done.
