The US space agency on April 8 launched three sounding rockets during the solar eclipse – visible in North America – to study how Earth s upper atmosphere is affected when sunlight momentarily dims over a portion of the planet.
Meet the mind behind NASA’s recent solar mission. Aroh Barjatya is an Indian-born scientist who is currently working as an Engineering Physics professor and Director of the Space and Atmospheric Instrumentation Lab at ERAU.
Aroh Barjatya, an India-born researcher, led NASA s recent mission launching sounding rockets during the total solar eclipse visible in North America, studying Earth s upper atmosphere s reaction to sunlight dimming.
"The mission was led by Aroh Barjatya, a professor of engineering physics at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida, where he directs the Space and Atmospheric Instrumentation Lab," NASA said in a statement.
