Multiple LGBTQI community groups and supporters gathered in Sydney over the weekend, protesting the Religious Vilification Bill passed by the state government earlier in the week.
Queer activist groups and human rights organisations have come out in opposition to the proposed NSW religious vilification bill, citing its failure to adequately protect Queer communities. The bill was introduced in late June by the NSW Labor Government in order to amend the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
Student activist Cherish Kuehlmann successfully challenged bail conditions arising from a housing action which prevented her from entering the CBD. David Killingly reports.
