CLAYTON — The North Country Family Health Center’s annual spring fundraiser, A Night on the River, will be held at the 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel on Friday, May 12.
As they celebrate the organization’s 50th anniversary, representatives of the North Country Family Health Center have ample reason to be proud of their work and accomplishments.

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - The COVID vaccination clinic at Jefferson Community College is ending for people who need their first-dose.
Instead, the vaccines will be hitting the road. In Lewis County, mobile clinics are a focus as well.
For all the times we’ve seen Jefferson Community College’s clinic busy with people, it wasn’t last week. It had 300 doses and administered 67. The leftover doses will now go to mobile vaccination sites.

Nina Strohminger, perhaps not unlike many fans of raunchy comedies and horror flicks, is drawn to disgust. The University of Pennsylvania psychologist has written extensively on the feeling of being grossed out, and where it comes from. The dominant idea, developed by Paul Rozin and April Fallon, is that disgust evolved adaptively from an oral revulsion to biologically harmful substances, like rotten food and bodily waste. The emotion subsequently crept into the social arena, they claimed, as we became revolted by abnormal and licentious behavior. Moral repugnance arose as a result, which retains little if any connection to the biological origins of disgust. It’s “like a parfait,�
