TINLEY PARK, IL The April 2021 Consolidated Elections are just months away. Candidates for various positions around Tinley Park are officially in the running for mayor, village board and of course, park board.
The Tinley Park Park District has three seats for Park Commissioner available in the April 2021 election. The park district said three people have submitted paperwork to run for Park Commissioner this year. The three candidates include incumbent, President Marie B. Ryan, and newcomers Lisa O Donovan and Don Cuba.
Park Boards are responsible for creating and enabling policies. Commissioners are responsible for passing ordinances and resolutions, similar to village and city board members. The board also is responsible for adopting budgets, appointing committees and more.
