SM Entertainment to Create NCT Hollywood with MGM Television
On May 6, American news outlet The Hollywood Reporter reported that SM Entertainment will launch a K-pop audition program in the United States with MGM Worldwide Television Group. The show will be held to discover new members that will form a new boy group that will carry out activities only in the global market, including the US.
The upcoming K-pop boy group will be called NCT Hollywood and will be the latest sub-unit of SM Entertainment s concept band NCT (Neo Culture Technology), which has no fixed number of members. The group currently comprises 23 members and four sub-units namely NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, and WayV.
BTS has entered their very first Japanese song on an English official singles chart!
On April 2, BTS dropped their new Japanese single entitled Film Out, which will serve as the original soundtrack for the Japanese film, Signal. Composed by Jungkook, along with Back Number s vocalist Iyori Shimizu, the song consists of sad lyrics about a loved one. Film Out will be included in BTS s upcoming Japanese compilation album, titled BTS, The Best, which will be launched on June 16.
Following its release, the song has been landing on numerous international charts, including the Billboard chart. Recently, it was revealed that Film Out has become BTS s first Japanese song to land on an English official singles chart, particularly the United Kingdom Official Singles Chart Top 100.
As a safety measure, Chenle went into his fourteen-day isolation period after being tested negative.
In addition, the other NCT DREAM members also took a test as they are currently preparing fo their comeback along with Chenle, which fortunately, also came up negative for all.
Who is NCT DREAM?
NCT DREAM is a sub-unit of NCT, formed by SM Entertainment in 2016. The group consists of members who are the youngest among all NCT members: Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle and Jisung, and was originally branded as a youthful group.
Initially, NCT DREAM followed a graduation system in which members would graduate once they reach adulthood or 20 years old in Korean age. Due to this, member Mark graduated from the unit group in 2019.
