Britain s leading business body has said the UK economy has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform and achieve its goal of reaching net-zero emissions.
The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) set out its goal in a new report which said 2021 must represent a turning point in economic policy and that the mistakes committed after the 2008 global financial crisis must not be repeated.
If the necessary measures are taken, the country could add another £700billion and 240,000 more green jobs to its economy and boost small and medium-sized (SME) business exports by £20billion by 2030, the Seize the Moment report stated.
