The Supreme Court on Tuesday (November 7) again expressed disapproval of the pick and choose approach adopted by the central government in selectively accepting names from the collegium resolutions.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday said it is "troublesome" that the Centre is selectively picking, choosing and appointing judges whose names were recommended by the collegium for appointment to the higher judiciary.

A two-judge bench presided by Justice S K Kaul also told Attorney General R Venkataramani to ask the government to notify transfers recommended by it, saying that failure to do so “creates an anomaly in the system”.
