CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Pisgah Elementary School on Hazelwood Road experienced two brief lockouts Friday morning, as the school took precautions from two unrelated incidents near the school.
This is the second day in a row that a Clarksville-Montgomery County elementary school has experienced a lockout.
Thursday morning, Glenellen Elementary had a lockout that lasted into the afternoon due to a nearby standoff with a barricaded subject on Applemill Court. That situation was resolved around 6:40 p.m.
Parents were alerted to the first lockout at Pisgah at 9:32 a.m., and it was lifted less than 10 minutes later.
According to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sandra Brandon, law enforcement received reports of a suspicious person walking on Trenton Road just under 2 miles from the school.

Update, 3:10 p.m.: The lockout at Glenellen Elementary was reportedly lifted around 1:30 p.m., and the end of day dismissal of students who do not live near the standoff will proceed as normal.
However, students who live near the standoff’s location the bus routes in the areas adjacent to Applemill Court are unable to run due to the continued road closures, and parents will have to go pick up their students from the school. Walkers will also have to be picked up from the school.
Anthony Johnson, chief communications officer for the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System, said that parents of students who live in the area surrounding the standoff have been notified of the change in plans.
Glenellen Elementary went on a lockout Thursday morning as Clarksville Police responded to a person barricaded inside a nearby home.
Police arrived to the 2700 block of Applemill Court around 8:20 a.m. Cider Drive was closed between Granny White Road and Gala Lane.
The school lockout ended at 1:15 p.m., according to a spokesperson with the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System.
