Apple store workers in France went on strike nationwide to protest against pay and working conditions, coinciding with the launch of the iPhone 15. The strike comes after Apple was forced to stop selling the iPhone 12 model in France due to radiation concerns. The unions are demanding a 7% wage increase to compensate for inflation and an end to a hiring freeze, while management is only offering a 4.5% increase. Workers at an Apple store in Barcelona are also planning to protest against poor working conditions.
It is the latest headache for the tech giant in France after it was forced to stop selling its iPhone 12 model earlier this month for above-threshold radiation. Apple disputes the findings of the French watchdog.
The unions also called for workers to demonstrate on Friday morning at the Paris Opera Garnier, which is next to one of Apple s flagship stores in Paris.
