A Weymouth man who apologized to tellers while robbing two Rhode Island banks was sentenced to four years in federal prison Thursday, according to the U.S. attorney s office in Providence.
Kevin Donovan, 43, pleaded guilty in December 2019 to two counts of bank robbery, Acting U.S. Attorney Richard B. Myrus said in a press release.
Donovan admitted that on May 23, 2019, he walked into a Citizen’s Bank branch in East Providence, and handed a teller a note that read, “No die packs. Sorry.”
When the teller placed a teller draw on the counter, Donovan grabbed $3,475 from it and fled.
