TAWAU: Food stall operators and vendors at the Sin On Market here are compliant with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the Government as they go about their daily business.
Tawau MP Datuk Christina Liew made this observation after visiting the market for a ‘meet and greet people’ session, recently.
“With reduced economic activity, they know money is hard to come by these days. It is not worth running foul of the law and getting compounded for SOP violations. I have also reminded sceptics, who have yet to do so, to get vaccinated soon under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme,” she said.

She said Malaysians in Sabah want to see tangible results, and look forward to firm action on the part of the Federal Government to resolve this longstanding issue plaguing the State. We hope the announcement is not just another promise in view of the forthcoming 15th General Election. The Federal Government must prove its sincerity in wanting to help Sabah deport the thousands of illegal immigrants back to their countries of origin. This can be achieved by making good on the announcement.

She said it was a matter of vindication from the baseless allegations levelled against her, and that people with bad motives have abused the social media platforms for their own gain.
Liew, who is also Tawau Member of Parliament and Api Api Assemblywoman, lamented that there have been so many malicious speculations arising from the false allegation that she had a judgement sum of RM500 million awarded against her.

Kota Kinabalu: Former Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Christina Liew has urged the public to be co-operative and adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the second phase of the Covid-19 Movement Control Order (MCO 2.0) for the common good.
“This is not the time for social gatherings. It does not pay to defy the MCO 2.0 stipulated by the Government. Rule breakers cannot escape the long arm of the law.
“Do not throw caution to the wind. It is wise to exercise safety precautions, rather than be sorry later,” she said, Monday, after visiting shoplots at Kg Air, Gaya Street and Damai Plaza to give out face shields and calendars.
