Young County Commissioners will be hosting a public hearing Monday regarding the company Apex Clean Energy, Inc., and their application to designate the area in Young County for their proposed wind farm as a tax abatement zone.
The zone submitted for application by the company covers 20,023.50 acres of land in Young County and will incorporate 11 different property owners. The area to be designated as the Young County Reinvestment Zone is located west of the city of Newcastle and contains portions of the boundaries of Graham ISD and Newcastle ISD.
The public hearing will be at 10 a.m. April 26, at the Commissioners Courtroom (Room 106) at the Young County Courthouse. According to a public notice from the county, all who are interested may appear at the hearing and present testimony and evidence regarding the designation of the reinvestment zone and the acceptance of the application for tax abatement.
