Central Falls, North Providence men indicted in separate murders

A statewide grand jury last week indicted two Rhode Island men for murder. The grand jury on Jan. 27 indicted Jose “Chepe” Aparicio Mendoza, 31, on one count each of murder, kidnapping, larceny over $1,500 and obstruction of an officer in execution of his duty in the death of former co-worker 50-year-old Jose Segura, whose body was discovered last month at a former rest area off Route 295 in Lincoln. Aparicio Mendoza, of 13 Parker St., Central Falls, is accused of killing Segura, of Providence, on Nov. 3. He was reported missing a week later after last being seen near the Dexter Training Ground in Providence. The office of the state’s medical examiner determined that Segura, whose body was discovered Nov. 26., died by homicide.
