KUALA LUMPUR: A total of seven police reports have been lodged against Tan Sri Tommy Thomas over his recently released book My Story: Justice in the Wilderness .
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said police are in the midst of completing the investigation papers (IPs) over every report against the former attorney general. As of Friday (Feb 5) morning, we have received seven police reports from all around the country. We will record the statements of everyone involved, which is part of the process of completing the IP, he told reporters after visiting the roadblock at Sungai Besi on Friday (Feb 5).

The next in line to seek public examination and interrogation over his conduct as a result of the recent memoirs of the ex-AG is none other than the ex-ex-AG, Apandi Ali.
Apandi, who frankly became a global laughing stock over his handling of 1MDB (will a suit against SR now be forthcoming?) has objected to references to him in Tommy Thomas’s frank narrative “
Justice In The Wilderness”.
He has told reporters he was particularly offended by remarks, specifically on page 199.
Since he has brought attention to these remarks by reporting them to the police on grounds of alleged criminal defamation and then releasing a statement naming the page, let’s remind ourselves what they say:
An action quietly started by Najib’s legal team in the United States last November has come to light, showing that he plans to go on the offensive against the key witnesses testifying for the prosecution in his trial over 1MDB and to blame them for misleading him, their boss, over the theft of billions that ended up in his own accounts.
The case being brought in the Southern District of New York is a so-called Discovery Application using civil law procedures that would enable him to force both the bank Goldman Sachs and their former Southeast Asia boss Tim Leissner to produce documents and be questioned relating their own settlements with the Department of Justice over 1MDB. Both pleaded guilty and acknowledged guilt: Leissner is due to be sentenced this month and the bank has accepted a Deferred Prosecution agreement involving record fines.
KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 22): Property development and construction firm Jiankun International Bhd, which announced a series of boardroom changes today, has appointed former attorney-general (AG) of Malaysia Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali as its independent and non-executive chairman with immediate effect.
With over 46 years of experience in the legal field, the 70-year-old has also been back in legal practice at his own firm, namely Apandi Ali & Co, since Nov 1, 2018, according to Jiankun in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.
Apandi was the AG between July 27, 2015 and June 4, 2018. At Jiankun, he is replacing Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai, 65, who has been redesignated as the executive deputy chairman. Lim was formerly the deputy finance minister.
