A senior doctor at Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) in Patna, Bihar’s capital, has sought permission to be relieved of his duty citing lack of oxygen supply at Kovid Care Hospital. A copy of the official letter was shared by Tejashwi Yadav, senior RJD leader and Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly as he gave a slogan to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for lack of infrastructure to take care of Kovid in the state.
Dr. Vinod Kumar Singh in his letter to the Health Secretary of Bihar has said that despite many reminders, the hospital is not being provided with sufficient oxygen cylinders. The situation, the official warned, may result in the death of hospitalized patients resulting in blaming the hospital administration.
