A 10-year-old girl was kidnapped and murdered by a registered sex offender in a suburban Illinois city, according to police, who say she was targeted at random.
The girl was playing outside with her six-year-old sister who returned home to tell their mum that a man had taken her older sister, less than an hour later the young girl's body was found nearby
