Police investigate death of man whose body was found on west Oak Cliff sidewalk The man was found in the 3500 block of Falls Drive by officers performing a welfare check. Revised to include the victim’s identity. Dallas police said they are investigating the death of a 47-year old man whose body was found in west Oak Cliff on Saturday morning. Police said officers responded to the 3500 block of Falls Drive on a welfare check about 7:47 a.m. and found the man unresponsive on the sidewalk. He was pronounced dead from homicidal violence at the scene. The Dallas County medical examiner’s office identified the victim as James Harmon.

Updated: 9:38 AM CST January 2, 2021 A 29-year-old man was fatally shot inside a Dallas home on New Year s Eve, police said. Officers responded shortly before 11 p.m. to the shooting at a home on the 1200 block of Grant Street. When they arrived, they saw Darrius Dejon Rivers had been shot multiple times inside the home. He was taken to a local hospital, but died from his injuries, police said.  Police are asking anyone with any information about his death to contact Det. Two men were killed in different neighborhoods around the final hour of 2020, ending one of the city’s deadliest years in over a decade. Police found Darrius D. Rivers, 29, suffering from gunshot wounds in an East Oak Cliff home in the 1200 block of Grant Street near South Denley Drive, police said. Someone reported the shooting to 911 a little before 11 p.m. Thursday. Rivers was taken to a hospital where he died.

Officers were called about 2:30 p.m. Sunday to the 1200 block of Moulin Rouge Drive, near North Westmoreland Drive and West Colorado Boulevard, where 20-year-old Christopher Ramirez Veloz had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at a hospital. Fifteen minutes later, officers responded to the scene of a shooting at an apartment complex in the 400 block of South Walton Walker Boulevard, about a five-mile drive from the first incident. The victim, 21-year-old Daniel Victor Barrera Jr., was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.
