At youth courthouse, Tony Accurso undergoes fourth criminal trial © Provided by The Gazette Tony Accurso enters the courtroom on Tuesday Jan. 5, 2021. Construction magnate Antonio (Tony) Accurso saw the start of what will be his fourth criminal trial in three years on Tuesday, but he is being tried at a courthouse where he likely never expected to find himself. Quebec Court Judge Mélanie Hébert began proceedings at Montreal’s youth courthouse even though Accurso, 69, and his four co-accused in the trial have not been under the age of 18 for decades. The trial is being held at the courthouse on Bellechasse St. out of concerns over the spread of COVID-19. Two other men accused in the trial Adriano Furgiuele, 52, and Antonio Girardi, 56 are former Canada Revenue Agency employees who allegedly took bribes from Accurso to help reduce the reported income of his construction companies.
