Coffee Talk was a departure from the company’s normal gaming style, but the initial idea was hard to ignore.
Hadiputra was intrigued by the story that Fahmi presented to him in the first demo, which featured two star-crossed lovers (characters who made it into the final version). Even though the
Romeo and Juliet–style forbidden love angle has been used in storytelling countless times, Hadiputra still found it relatable and compelling.
“That demo basically hooked me personally,” Hadiputra says. “I felt like there was a connection, an emotional connection, where I could personally relate to the situation.”
