The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts will move its headquarters, warehouse and distribution center from Hatfield to Chicopee.
The Food Bank purchased 16.5 acres of vacant land at the Chicopee River Business Park from Westmass Area Development Corp. The Food Bank paid $449,000 for the property at the corner of Carew and East Main streets, according to documents on file at the Hampden County Registry of Deeds. It’s in a part of Chicopee that borders on the Indian Orchard section of Springfield.

SPRINGFIELD For more than 20 years, Andrea Allen-Glenn has helped people in need have one less thing to worry about each week.
As the food coordinator for the Emergency Food Assistance Program at Martin Luther King, Jr. Family Services on Rutland Street, Allen-Glenn connects people who need food with fresh produce, meat and other items.
