All basketball teams around Western Pennsylvania have been through a series of ups and downs in the past few weeks. The Highlands boys, however, didn’t even get to take the court for so much as a practice before Gov. Tom Wolf put a three-week pause on high school sports.
So, when the Golden Rams began their first practice of the season Monday, the excitement level of coach Tyler Stoczynski and his players was through the roof.
2 killed in separate Montgomery shootings in past 24 hours

Montgomery police are investigating two separate homicides that happened over the past 24 hours.
Stephanie Hale, 23, was found shot to death about 3 p.m. Thursday. Police and fire medics responded to the 5600 block of Carmichael Road on a report of a person shot. Capt. Saba Coleman said they arrived to find Hale unresponsive. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
No arrests have been made.
Then, about 12:30 a.m. Friday, authorities were dispatched to the 3800 block of Liberty Square Drive, also on a report of someone shot. Davonta Coley, 20, was pronounced dead on the scene.
