On Saturday, as a private citizen, Buentello filed a lawsuit against current Colorado 3rd Congressional District Representative Lauren Boebert for blocking Buentello on Twitter on Jan. 7. Boebert, a Republican representing the 3rd Congressional District, which includes Pueblo, has drawn criticism for her social media posts surrounding the rioting that took place Wednesday in the U.S. Capitol building. One post that was particularly concerning to those present Friday afternoon was published on her personal Twitter account at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. Today is 1776, she wrote, following up with a tweet nearly two hours later asking individuals to listen to evidence. Wanting America to have free and fair elections should not be a partisan issue.
