Iranian actor Taraneh Alidoosti was recently arrested by Iranian administration for supporting the anti-hijab protest and condemning the execution of a protester. Many people have come out in support of the actor including actors like Avengers actor Mark Ruffalo, Tessa Thompson, Lily James, Kristen Stewart, Kate Winslet, Jason Momoa, Emma Thompson and Mira Nair as they all signed a petition demanding the release of the Iranian actor.
The United Kingdom will soon declare Iran's Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist group. This step as per reports will be taken in retaliation for the group arresting seven people with links to Britain over the ongoing anti-government protest in Iran.
Proscribing Iran's Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organisation means that availing of the group's membership would be equivalent to committing a criminal offence. Additionally, attending its meetings, or carrying the group's logo in public would also be considered a criminal offence.
Alidoosti, 38, was taken into custody on Saturday, a week after she made a post on Instagram expressing solidarity with Mohsen Shekari, the first man recently executed for crimes allegedly committed during the protests.
